We had a fantastic day at 100% Design yesterday. A wealth of outstanding ideas and innovations on show this year and both the visual impact and the practicality of the design solutions were truly inspirational. We have heaps of photographs, literature and samples to be sifted through for ongoing projects and for the design library plus everything we couldn't physically carry still to come! Here are a few eye catching ideas for now ..........

Found when tracking down a fabric for a client - this beautiful paisley patterned velvet, woven using a jacquard technique is from the new Jaipur Autumn collection. This comes in 8 colours and I think it will look stunning used for just about anything.

We like this new collection from Romo ...... intricately woven fabrics that beautifully combines an elegant ‘tree of life’ design and a tranquil floral damask with a hand embroidered effect, both perfectly balanced alongside a vibrant selection of small scale weaves including an ombre check, a herringbone stripe and original geometrics. 

Mardi Gras - A festival of sophisticated colours and textures make this a wonderfully eccentric modern floral. Printed on soft cream and neutral grounds, this wood inlay inspired design will be launched at Decorex 2014.

Following on from the success of Matthew Williamson's first cushion collection Eden, his second collection of ready-made cushions have just been launched. The Samana collection is inspired by an island paradise in the Caribbean are made in a selection of fabrics from Matthew's new collections Samana and Shimm. 

Stark Carpets will also be at Decorex International this year with a preview of their new carpet ranges. Well known for their diverse portfolio of custom made carpet and rug designs inspired by eclectic and diverse influences, this stunning this wool rug from the Nairamat Collection epitomises the Stark genre.  This is available in custom design and can be made in any width.

This is my favourite trade fair showcasing true and innovative designs and this is the 20th edition of the show. I will be there again this year exploring everything on display and hoping to pick up as much inspiration this year as I did last. This is superb -  A characterful wonderfully colourful and eye-catching embroidery  This spectacular tree of life makes full use of the different embroidery techniques to maximise on the surface qualities. Bold colourings with jewel-like head colours bring drama and impact to this generously scaled design.

Lots of new collections will be launched this Autumn at Decorex 2014 and Focus 2014. From the previews it looks as if we are going to be treated to some stunning designs.
